President of Geil Enterprises is the first Certified Green Building Professional in local janitorial industry.

Fresno, CA – Sam Geil, President Geil Enterprises, is a certified Green Building Professional since passing Build It Green's certification program.
Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, Build It Green is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote healthy, energy- and resource-efficient homes in California. Build It Green has more than 700 members in the public and private sector, and an annual operating budget of $2.7 million (2007).
Geil Enterprises Inc. owns and operates five industry-leading companies including Janitorial Inc., Valley Security & Alarm, CIS Security, Valley Sanitary Supply and A-MAZ Cleaning Products.
Geil's certification is the first for a janitorial company in the Central Valley. "The certification focused on green practices, materials, construction and options, which will help us better serve our clients," said Geil.
Thirty other business professionals in the Fresno and Clovis area have completed Build It Green's certification program including Darius Assemi with Granville Homes, and Jon Ryan DeYoung and Mike DeYoung with DeYoung Properties according to Build It Green's certified professionals list.
Geil is also the founder and CEO of the International Green Industry Hall of Fame (IGIHOF), a nonprofit organization dedicated to recognizing excellence in the green industry internationally. "The certification broadens my knowledge and understanding of green industry practices, and helps me to identify and recognize those businesses that are leaders in their industries," said Geil.
David Myers, Development & Communications Director for Build It Green said that Geil and other local leaders including Assemi have helped spread the word in the Central Valley. "They've done a great job of being advocates for green building," said Myers.
