We are an "open source" organization gathering nominations at no cost to the nominator or nominee. Each year, the nominees are reviewed, contacted and vetted through our strict vetting guidelines to ensure no green washing. We have a set vetting committee that has both the extensive knowledge and due deligence necessary to ensure a thorough and fair vetting process.


Agriculture & Organics
Involved in the Science, Art, and Practice of cultivating the soil, producing crops, and raising livestock and in varying degrees the preparation and marketing of the resulting products. This category also includes Organic Farming.

Consumer Products
Producers of merchandise or other item of common or daily use, ordinarily bought by individuals or households for private consumption.

Entertainment
Literature, Art, Television, Radio, Film, Sport, Music, or any other media classified as entertainment.

Government & Municipalities and Military
Administrative units of government. City, town, or other district possessing corporate existence and usually its own local government (City, State, County, or Town). Military includes all branches and military suppliers.

Manufacturing
Involved in the making of goods by manual labor, machinery & robotics.

Retail
Sellers of goods and products directly to the end consumer

Transportation & Aerospace

Architecture/
Construction
Involved in increasing the efficiency of resource uses such as energy, water, and materials while also reducing building impacts on human health and the environment during the building’s life cycle. This includes both residential and commercial construction.

Education

Dedicated to education at any level, public or private.

Finance
Involved in the circulation of money, the granting of credit, the making of investments, and the provision of banking facilities including credit unions.

Health Care / Pharmaceutical
Hospitals, Laboratories, Pharmaceuticals, Medical and Physicians.

Travel and Hospitality
All travel and hospitality services including lodging, airlines, rail, car rental, restaurant and convention related industries.

Service
The occupations or functions of serving others. This category can include service organizations such as Chambers of Commerce, Economic Development Services, and Service Organizations.

Waste & Recycling
Treating or processes (used or waste materials) so as to make suitable for reuse.

Chemical
Involved in the production or research of chemicals.

Energy & Alternative Energy
Dedicated to responsible use of energy, finding more resourceful ways to be energy efficient, energy efficient buildings, industrial processes and transportation and helping control global emissions of greenhouse gases. Industries include: solar, wind, biomass, geothermal and hydro-electric.

Food Service
Practice or business of making, transporting, serving, and dispensing prepared foods.

Industrial Goods
Machinery, goods or component parts produced for industry, which include processed or raw materials, and goods used to produce other goods, machinery, components, and equipment.

Natural Resources
Dealing with the use of any industrial materials and capacities (water & windpower) supplied by nature.

Technology
The creation and use of technical means and their interrelation with life, society, and the environment, drawing upon such subjects as industrial arts, engineering, applied science, and pure science.
